
RECREATIONAL
CanGym is Canada’s National Skill Development Program. It was created by coaches, to be used in recreational gymnastics programs for participants of all ages. The programs are developed to allow each child to progress at his or her own pace.
Rec Level 1-2 (burgundy-red)
Class Length: 1 hour
For those children who are new to gymnastics, or have completed the Tots Program
Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any child to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam, rings and floor. NO previous experience necessary!
Rec Level 3-4 (tan-bronze)
Class length: 1 hour
For those who have completed badges 1-2 (burgundy-red)
Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any child to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam, rings and floor.
Rec Level 5-6 (purple-blue)
Class length: 1.5 hour

Class length: 1.5 hour

Boys Only Rec
Class length: 1 hour
For those boys who love gymnastics, want to work their way through the CanGym Program, and want a class with other boys
Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any child to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is boys only class and focuses on the mens gymnastics events - vault, bars, rings and floor. This class is not currently split by ability but will in the future as this program grows!
Teen Rec (age 12 and up)
Class length: 1.5 hours
For those who are a minimum age of 12 who have done gymnastics before OR are brand new to the sport. This class is designed so that our older athletes can try gymnastics and advance through the badges, without having to worry about “being in a class with little ones”. Badge levels are used as a tool for coaches to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any child to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam, rings and floor.
Home Schooled (grade 1 and up)
Daytime rec classes for school aged kids
This class will expose the children to the gymnastics environment and expand on their knowledge of bars, beam, floor, vault and rings. This program is designed to teach them dominant movement patterns - statics, landings, rotations, swing, spring and locomotion. These children will begin to work on the CanGym badge system and progress their way through the levels at their own pace.
Adult Rec (age 18 and up)
Class length: 1 hour
For those who are a minimum age of 18 who have done gymnastics before OR are brand new to the sport. This class is designed so that our older athletes can try gymnastics and advance. Our coaches are to monitor and evaluate progressions; however, our main focus is to provide a program that allows any adult to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on all of the gymnastics events - vault, bars, beam, vault, rings and floor.
Rhythmic Rec
Class Length: 1 hour
For those children who are new to gymnastics or have completed the Tots Program.
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport where individuals or groups of five manipulate one or two pieces of apparatus: rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon, or freehand. Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation. This class is great for any child looking to explore the Rhythmic side of gymnastics vs the usual artistic side (as done in our regular Recreational program). Our main focus is to provide a program that allows any child to experience and enjoy the sport of gymnastics. This class is co-ed and focuses on only the Rhythmic elements: rope, hoop, ball and ribbons.
